English IGCSE Results 2016
Today students in Year 11 received their IGCSE English results. The results were outstanding and there were delighted scenes in the C6 auditorium as they were collected. Students achieved their targets in overwhelming numbers. 72% of students achieved a C grade or higher. This compares very favourably with the 67% of students who met this bench mark nationally in 2015.
Students achieved success in many ways. 41 students received an A or A* grade. Overall 78% of students have made 3 or more full levels of progress since Key Stage 2. Last year only 69% of students achieved this nationally. Progress was very strong amongst both boys and girls and amongst pupil premium students.
Warmest congratulations goes to the students and to the parents/carers and teachers who have supported them.
Sadly, as ever there were some students who were disappointed. They will get a chance to improve their grade this summer.
