Following last week’s superb A-level results, GCSE students have also surpassed themselves, obtaining outstanding exam results. 63% of students achieved the bench mark of 5A* –  C including English and maths. This compares to a challenging target of 62%, surpassing which represents exceptional student progress.

Results were excellent across a wide range of subjects. 79% of students achieved a C or better in English and 73% in maths. Results in French, Spanish, additional science, biology, physics, geography, philosophy, English literature and numerous other subjects showed exceptional rates of progress. There were also big improvements in the results obtained in history; chemistry and several other subjects.  Students performed well at all levels and achieved personal success in lots of different ways. The results of the students who were supported by the Pi or SpLD units were especially pleasing.

Many students achieved top grades, with 32 students achieving 5 or more A or A* grades. Testimony to the success of these gifted students.

“I am so very proud of our students, they have surpassed themselves. All their hard work and effort has paid off and given them the achievements that they so richly deserve. I am excited to see them in September working just as hard at their C6 studies. I would like to thank parents and staff for all the hard work and support that they have given to these young scholars.”
