It is believed we are the only secondary school in Swindon to have a Parent Teacher Association, let alone one that is so active.  Joining the PTA, or helping out at events is a great way to feel a part of the school, not only in raising money for those useful extras but also by joining in with events to raise the profile of the school in the community.

There are roughly six meeting a year, faithfully attended by a good number of parents as well as teachers. Smaller committees also meet to organise special events.  Parents join with teachers to help at these events (providing refreshments, moving furniture, collecting tickets, baking cakes etc).  There are regular activities to involve all the schools friends and the wider local community; Quiz nights, Commonweal 5 Run, Christmas Craft Market, Old Town Festival.

Information about forthcoming meetings, events and ways of contributing to the PTAs efforts appears in Commonweal Matters and the PTA Newsletter.  We all appreciate just how busy life is nowadays, especially with secondary aged children, but it’s always good to have some fresh ideas, so please come along to the meetings and see what’s involved!  If you want more information please email
