Design,Technology,Food

Department ethos:–We aim to encourage pupils to become independent creative thinkers whilst developing a range of practical skills in Food technology and Textiles.

Supporting the school’s specialism:- We attempt to support the school’s specialist Performing Arts status by encouraging pupils to use creative design strategies when designing and making products, encouraging expression of ideas in a supportive environment to build self confidence.

Links to outside agencies:- We have speakers from environmental health, visits to the catering facilities at Swindon College and from chef, instructors.

Department successes:-We participate in the Swindon young cooks competition each year and support the annual cultural day for year 7.
