Religious Education
Department ethos:– There are two enthusiastic RE teachers who inspire students to have a keen interest in religion, culture and to have an in depth appreciation of the world today and to understand the importance of religion in today's society.
Supporting the school’s specialism:- We support the schools specialist arts status by having various relevant activities e.g. Hindu dance, Islamic art, stained glass windows and wedding role plays.
Links to outside agencies:- We currently don't have any trips but we are looking at weaving schemes of work which will include visits to local places of worship. This will include a Yr 7 visit to a Gurdwara or Sikh temple.
Youth For Christ run a lunch time club at our school which involves a range of fun activities.
Department successes:- All Yr 7s took part in a recent Indian Day which included dance and a wedding ceremony. Pupils study GCSE RE in Yr 9 and have their exam in Yr 10.
